27 Weeks!

Today was our 27 week doctors visit, the beginning of the 3rd trimester. We got a few ultrasound photos and new picture of the belly. Praise the Lord, everything is looking good with the twins. Cameron is a little smaller than Timothy but still growing in proportion to her age. They were both very active and crawling all over each other. It was very cute to watch their movements on the screen. They got full checks of their hearts, kidneys, bladder and bones...all looking good.

Easy

I was listening to the radio today about how marriage is hard work and that it takes two people to work at it. While Sara and I might have had some difficult moments during our three years of marriage, they were very few. I wouldn't say that I can point to a particular secret to our marriage except that Sara is wonderful.

Giving Thanks

We want to start off by giving thanks to all of our friends and family members who have been there for us through thick and thin. That said, we are definitely going through the 'thick' right now, and have much to be thankful for. And just like the Emmy and Oscar winners, we would like to thank God for His love and faithfulness.

For those of you who might be wondering, we had a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving. We wanted to spend some time just the two of us before our lives got busy with additional members of the family. We had lunch at Americano, a restaurant on the Embarcadero. We had a great meal and highly recommend checking the restaurant out. The food and service was great. And best of all, no clean-up. Of course, no leftovers either :(

Kickin' back...

I hear lots of women say how much they love or loved being pregnant. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those women. Pretty much from day one of conception I have been complaining about one thing or another going on with my body. From sickness, stretching pains, bathroom trips or just general discomfort, pregnancy hasn't been a joy ride for me. But I have to say, one aspect of this pregnancy that has brought me joy is feeling my babies move. Their movements increase and get stronger day to day, week to week. It took a while for Young to feel the movements but now he is just as fascinated with them as I am. I suppose it just makes the babies more real for us. And we are so lucky with twins, one of the two is usually moving at any point of the day. I can just imagine a little foot, tiny elbow or forceful hand pushing their way around inside. I'm trying to define their personalities by their movements. Timothy moves less but packs a powerful punch. Cameron is almost always on the move, seemingly trying to get comfortable. I wonder if Timothy is giving her a few kicks just to say "settle down over there, I'm trying to sleep."...hum, just a sign of things to come...

What's In a Name?

So I don't think we have yet explained how we came up with Timothy and Cameron for our little ones. Well, Timothy as many of you may know was one of Paul's companion and fellow servant of the Gospel. When Sara and I were trying to have a baby the first time around, we were on a plane together. While on the plane, we came across the following passage in Philippians 2:19 "I want to be encouraged by news about you. So I hope the Lord Jesus will soon let me send Timothy to you." I was very certain at that moment, that the Lord would bless us with a boy. Oh, and the name Timothy means "one who honors God."

The origins of Cameron on the other hand was rather 'worldly' in comparison. Sara had always wanted to name her child after her (yes, I know, quite the self-absorbed). We had discussed the name quite a bit because another name that we had considered was Yoomie, but we finally agreed to Cameron. And if you are wondering what that name means, it means "crooked nose" - lovely. Oh, and it's Scottish.

We're still waiting on my parents to come up with Korean middle names. So stay tuned...

Emily Kapic's Baby Shower

You think twins is going to be hard...try triplets! Our friends Danny and Emily Kapic are expecting three little ones around the same time our twins are due. We attended a baby shower for Emily this past weekend and had a blast.

Young came along to hang out with the guys. He and Danny talked about what it will be like to be dads of multiples. I must admit, having twins seem like a piece of cake next to what they are expecting. There were a lot of current and former FBC folks there, so it was nice to catch up. Emily's pregnancy is going really well so far, she has so much energy and the babies are growing according to schedule. It's beautiful to see the Lord pouring out His blessing on that family. You can visit Danny and Emily's blog at www.thekapics.blogspot.com.

Sara's Birthday Tea Party

We've been getting lots of advice from our twins club about spending time with your friends now, before the twins arrive. So for my birthday this past weekend I decided I wanted to have a tea party with a few of my close girlfriends. We had a fabulous time! It was so much fun. We all met at Lovejoy's Tea Room in Noe Valley. The ladies there completely styled us out and made sure we were having a great time. I highly recommend, whether pregnant or not, taking an afternoon with your girlfriends and having tea. And thank you to my friends for making it such a special time...sorry if I ate most of the food...

Thanks for the pictures Sharona.

It's a Boy!! It's a Girl!!

23 Weeks

Hi,
This is Sara. I'm at 23 weeks and I gained 23 lbs! Only 20 more to go!

Below are some previous months' pictures. I just wanted you all to know that my face wasn't always this 'full.'

First Entry

Okay. Considering everyone and their brother seems to have a blog about their lives and/or special happenings, we thought we would create a blog too.

Specifically, we hope to share our journey of becoming parents and parenthood. Of course, other interesting stops along the way will also be journaled.

As an update, we are currently 23 weeks pregnant with twins! They are fraternal. And if you must know, no, it doesn't run in our family. We went through IVF. We can't wait to welcome Timothy (boy) and Cameron (girl) into our family. Actually, considering all the horror stories we hear about pre-term labor, we can - at least for another 15-17 weeks. Sara should be posting some pictures of the critters
