learning more and more
I see new things everyday that the kids are learning. They are little sponges, taking in everything. Cameron seems to catch on to new things faster but Timothy is way more active...rarely sitting still for very long. The other day I was folding the kids laundry and blankets. Cameron crawled over and pulled her blanket out of the basket and laid right down on as if she were going to sleep. I was amazed that she could associate the blanket with bedtime while the blanket was out of her crib. It seems like a little thing but put it all together with every little new thing I see them do...it's just amazing!

Update on Timothy
Thank you to all of you that have been praying for Timothy. He is almost back to 100%! He was really sick over the weekend but I haven't been posting about it b/c I was still waiting to hear back from the doctors. He was running a 105 fever all day on Friday and we spent much of the day at the doctors office trying to get it down. After many tests they realized his blood oxygen was low again and ordered chest x-rays to see what was in his lungs...they thought maybe RSV again or phenomia. His fever lowered to about 102 so they released us to go home along with antibiotics and an Albuterol inhaler...which he hates! The x-ray showed his lungs were full of some sort of infection but RSV was ruled out, thank goodness.
Saturday evening his fever finally broke and stayed down. His breathing became better and he was a little more playful. He is now back to his old self, just a crusty nose...guess the antibiotics worked well. The doctors said because he had RSV as a baby, he will likely have breathing problems whenever he gets the simplest cold, which is what happened. The damage from RSV will follow him the next few years, ugh! But he should out grow it by early childhood...so we're praying he doesn't have it much longer or any other long term issues. Thank you agian for all your prayers!!!

New Wheels!
As I mentioned before, we got the kid these little cars for their birthday and they love them. (we actually got them the day after Thanksgiving as a door buster for half price!) Their feet don't quite touch the ground yet so it's full time job pushing them around! But they absolutely love it!! They laugh the whole time and Cameron even make the "vroom, vroom" noise. Even when they aren't being pushed, they just sit on them or Timo will use it as a walking toy and push it all around. And, even more, the seats lift up and there is room to put things...anything the kids can find to cram in there. Their new fun thing to do is put objects in and out of containers, any container. Sometimes I find all sorts of toys stuck under their seats.
Here they are opening their birthday cards and gifts, happy to be eye level with mommy and daddy!
Just a side note, I haven't been able to post as much because the kids require pretty much all of my attention these days. We've been getting a lot of rain so no trips outside, which means I have to make indoor play really creative. And when it is sunny I try to head outdoors. The nap times are also getting shorter so that means less time for myself as well. I think we may move to one long nap during the day soon so that might help a bit. Anyway, just wanted you all to know I'm not slacking...keeping two babies occupied and happy all day is a full time job!!

It's a Race to walk
We're all hedging bets on who will be the first to take their first steps! Timothy has the walking skill down and is walking everywhere as long as he holds on. But Cameron is standing by herself for long periods of time....she has balance. I've always said Cameron will walk first...so we'll see.

1 Year Pictures
A week before the kids birthday we had their 1 year pictures made. I called up the photographer who did our wedding and asked if she photographed children...only once before but she was up for the challenge! I love her work which is made up mostly of just candid shots. She tells you to be natural, start talking and she starts clicking. We ended up with almost 600 photos to sort through!!
We met her in the botanical gardens in Golden Gate Park and luckily we had a sunny morning...after three straight days of rain. Here are a few of the amazing shots she got that day.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Ko!
Sunday, Feb. 15th was Grandpa Ko's birthday so we had another little celebration. He loves seafood so took him out for Dim Sum after church on Sunday, sushi for lunch and Monday and then a big crab dinner Monday night. (We're doing a good job at finding all the restaurants that have two highchairs!) The kids did so well at trying new foods but never leave home without Cheerios!

It's a Party!
Sorry for the long wait in the birthday party photos. Things have been quite busy around here
The twins' birthday party was a blast! I feel like it all happened so fast but we managed to get some great pictures and video to help relive the whole event. As I touched on in an earlier post, the 1st birthday in Korean culture is a pretty big deal. Thank goodness for Young's mom and sister!! They made sure the kid's table was set up correctly, the food was fantastic and the decorations were festive! I'll try to walk you through the party with the photos and hope you can get a glimpse of the madness we all celebrated!
We started the morning by giving the kids their birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy! They love their little cars...and just want to sit on them even when they aren't being pushed. Young got the giant monkeys...need I say more??
Aunt Katie and cousin Sena made a huge birthday sign for them and hung all the decorations. Young's mom made some extra special side dishes to go with all the Korean food and did an amazing job getting everything ready.
After playing a bit and eating, it was time for a wardrobe change the start the Korean ceremonies.
Grandma and I headed back to dress the kids while Aunt Katie and Young set up their table.
The table is set up with a variety of colorful rice cakes and fruit of the season. Traditionally the table is a sign of the family's wealth and status in the community. Now days you can improvise on the rice cake towers by using colorful cookies. (If you have time, google Korean 1st birthday images and see how elaborate these table can get!)

Now comes the picking part. Four objects are laid before the baby, each one has it's own meaning. The object the baby picks determines his/her future. The objects are: a bowl of rice meaning they always will have food to eat, never going hungry. A book/pencil meaning they will be scholars/smart. The string means a long life and money means they will have wealth.
After laboring a bit, Timothy went for the rice...and Cameron immediately grabbed the money! So I guess Timothy will always be eating and Cameron will always be shopping...I'm so proud..sniff, sniff!
Anyway, after changing again, it was time for cake and the kids were getting a little restless waiting on mommy to light the candle...
Of course, putting a cake with a lite candle in front of a baby isn't the smartest thing I've ever done. Daddy was taking pictures and I didn't have time to blow out the candles on both cakes before Cameron tried to touch the flame...ouch! Sorry baby...
I think the kids were a bit overwhelmed by all the attention, neither really took to their cakes. Timothy enjoyed a little of the frosting but then his hat fell off and the elastic pinched his neck...ouch!
All in all we had a great day! We are so blessed to have so many friends come share the day and so blessed to have Young's family here to celebrate as well. Timothy and Cameron had such a special day with all their friends! Thank you to everyone!!

Happy 1st Birthday!!
I can't believe our little babies are one year old today!! And I can't believe Young and I have made it through the first year. In many ways the first year went by super fast and in others ways, it felt like the longest year of our life! And the twins managed to make it through with a mommy and daddy who had no clue about being parents. But we have made we all made together as a family. Praise God!

Keeping Busy
We been having a wonderful time with Grandma and Grandpa Ko. Young's sister and niece got in last night and increased the fun ten fold. The kids have been brushing up on their Korean and eating all kinds of new foods. And I'm enjoying having all the extra pair of hands! Here are a some pictures over the past few days...
The minute Grandma and Grandpa showed up, they scooped up and kids and didn't put them down all evening.

We took last night off cheer the Tarheels on against Duke...Blowout!!
Sena feeding the twins breakfast and then we headed out for some sightseeing. We were lucky the rain stopped for the day.
