Pool Time

We're back from our trip down south...full of BBQ, sweet tea and Walmart visits. (how can you come up with a reason to go to Walmart every day??) We had a great visit with family and friends and soaked up the hot humid weather. We took lots of pictures and I'll post them all when I get a little more time. The twins are a little cranky today, trying to get back on their schedule.

Here are a few pictures of the kids in the pool for the first time. We stayed with my parents in their new travel trailer and the park there has a pool. Soaked in suntan lotion for the 99+ temps, we put their little swimming trunks on and headed outside. I think they were a little overwhelmed by all the water (bigger then their bathtub and much cooler). Cameron ended up in Grandpa's lap after two minutes but Timothy stayed a little longer with Granny and Kenzie.

Headed to North Carolina

We are leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow for North Carolina...to meet the Cameron side of the family and ALL the Green Level folks. It's a last minuet trip b/c Young has a business trip to Charlotte, NC...so we're tagging along. I'll go stay with my family while Young works, then he will head over Thursday evening and stay the weekend. I'll be able to do some posts but probably no pictures...but don't worry, there will be plenty when I get back.

Wish us luck on the flight! No need to bring toys for the kids...all they do is chew on their hands these days. Timothy likes to see if he can fit his whole hand in his mouth!

Check Up

The kids had their four month check up and shots today. Check up went well, shots didn't. They were both super tired because their apt. was right in the middle of their nap time. But they took the shots like troopers, cried a little longer than the first time around and then went right to sleep. We got instruction on starting solid foods in a another month or so. I'm excited for them to taste real food but willing to put off pea and carrot puree all over my floor as long as I can.

Here are their stats...
-Timothy weighs in at a whopping 17lbs & 24 inches long. 83% for his weight-to-age group and 38% for length-to-age...that means he is chubby!!
-Cameron is holding her own at 14lbs 10oz & 23 inches long. 68% for her weight-to-age and 8% for length-to-age...she might be chubbier...
Kaiser gave the kids these t-shirts when they were born...they finally fit into them.

Name That Tune

You know when you're trying to go to sleep at night and you have some random song stuck in your head...maybe you don't know all the words so it just keeps playing over and over in your head b/c you can't quite sing it all the way through and wrap it up? This has been happening to me a lot lately...except the song isn't one of great difficulty...I'm stuck with "The wheels on the bus go round and round..." or "B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O..."
This is my life now, learning children's songs and nursery rhymes all over again....good times...

No Sweeter Sound

Timothy has the best laugh! I'm trying to bounce him on my knee, sing and hold the camera at the same time...sorry if it's a little shaky.

(Cameron hasn't developed her laugh yet...she is still squealing all the time)

Identity Crisis

Believe it or not, this is my first official week as a stay home mom. We decided last week that it would be best for our family if I stayed home with the babies and did not return to work. This was a VERY hard decision for me. When I left work six months ago I had every intention of returning this month. And I was fully committed to returning up until about two weeks ago. But the kids just started changing so much in the past few weeks, it's like they came alive!

I won't go through all the reasons Young and I went through to make this decision, let's just say my knees are sore from prayin'! The decision was just kinda made for us, praise God. So we are trusting that the Lord will provide for us...b/c living in San Francisco ain't cheap!

And I won't go into the identity crisis I went through last week, the crisis is over and I'm accepting the fact I'll be "one of those moms" sitting in the park each day chasing our kids around, talking about potty training and how our husbands just can't quite get their socks in the hamper...hum, good times...

I'm now focusing on the positives...like seeing the smile on Timothy's face when I wake him up form a nap or being there when Cameron rolls over for the first time. No racing to get the kids fed, dressed and ready for daycare or having a babysitter call in sick. I'm feeling blessed to be able to focus all my attention on our children.
Yeah Mommy!

how times have changed...

Last weekend we got together with some of Young's friends that he has had for many, many years, Yang and Ky. They have all been through job changes, moves, relationships, marriage and now growing families. The last time we all saw each other was last fall and all three wives were pregnant. This is the first time we've been able to see each other since all the kiddies were born...it was fun to compare sleep habits, exchanging advice and pass around hand-me-downs with each other. Ky and Delfine already have 2year old Skyden so he was the biggest boy there!

Starting from left to right: Mason & Yang with Jasper behind, us and our two, Delphine & Ky with Karissa and Skyden behind.

Father's Day

This being Young's first Father's Day, I wasn't sure how to show him how much I appreciate his dedication as a husband and father. I feel like I'm able to be a better mom because of his love and support to me and his absolute devotion to our children. You know what they say, the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach! I picked out a nice steakhouse to have a Father's Day lunch with the kids. We started the day at church, where all the dad got lolly pops...get it, pops for the Pops. Then we headed downtown, taking public transportation (we learned where all the elevators were in the subways) and had a great lunch at Lark Creek Steak. After an amazing lunch we strolled around the new mall downtown and had a relaxing afternoon.
I do love my husband and thank the Lord each day for His gift to me.
Like Father like Son and Daddy's little girl.

Cameron Learning Her Voice!

Cameron has gone straight from babbling to out right squeals. I think she is learning the range of her voice. She is like this most of the time...happy, sad, sleepy, it's all squealing for her. (don't have your volume too loud)

Bath time

I came across this short video from our vacation to Ohio...of Timothy taking a bath in Grandma Ko's kitchen sink. He is a chubby fellow!

Sleep Training...DONE!

Yes, folks, that's right...the twins are now sleeping through the night. We put them down at 7pm and they wake up around 6am. We decided to go cold turkey on a few sleeping habits. We stopped swaddling for their naps and started using sleep sack and we cut out their 3am feeding. It was a tough week last week for all of us but the kids pulled through it like champs! Until we move to rice cereal (which should be in the next few weeks) we do a quick "dream feed" around 11pm where we feed them while they are still sleeping. It gets extra calories in them to make it through the night. It's amazing they can eat and sleep at the same time!

The odd thing is I keep waking up...I need to start sleep training myself!!

Here are the kids in their new sleep sacks. Their arms still flail around and wake them up sometimes but it's a start.

16 Weeks Old!

We have made it to four months! They say it gets easier from here...and much busier. A few milestones so far
The twins have found their voice. A whole lot of babbling and squealing going on.
They are sleeping 6-7 hours a night now---YEA!
Timothy is almost rolling over
Total neck support
We can make them laugh and giggle
They completely light up when Young or I come over to pick them up!

Fort Meigs, Perrysburg OH

These are more vacation pictures of our afternoon at Fort Meigs. They were having a reenactment of the War of 1812...which was a mix of the British and Indians agains the Americans. Here are a few pictures and a short video of the march. (I think Young was trying to get a shot of Timothy's face at the end of the video...)

It's Portrait Time

It's a right of passage for every child born to have their portrait taken at Sears. My mom (Babs) sent us a coupon for a portrait package at Sears...so we loaded up the kids, some matching outfits and headed down to the mall. Of course we spent a lot more $$ than just what the coupon offered b/c the twins have two sets of grandparents, two great grandmothers, aunts and uncles. But it was worth it. The kids did a great job at smiling and looking at the camera and lasted a wardrobe change during it all. So since we still can't post any pictures from the vacation, I thought I would put up some of their portraits. (they give you the portrait CD after you make your purchases!)
