Since the kids don't really have many teeth yet...Timo with 2 bottom and Cameron is still all gums...finding new, fun food for them is a chore. They can't really eat chewable food yet and they are sooo over chunky or pureed food. They love to feed themselves so it needs to be solid enough for them to pick up. I got a few great tips from some other moms and they work great! Frozen peas and corn...right out of the freezer. They love them! The veggies practically thaw in their mouths and are easy to bit. Plus, I think frozen, the flavor of peas isn't that strong b/c Timo wouldn't eat the pureed peas we tried to feed them. And I think the skins are hard for Cameron to break down so she spits the skin back out. Now I just need to figure out how to stop Timothy from throwing his food on the floor!! Any tips are warmly welcomed...

We had the same food throwing problem with John. I talked with a lady in my church about it and she gave me some great advice. She said that he was getting too overwhelmed with all the food on his tray and he just did not know what to do with it. She said to give him only a bite or two on his tray and to stand by and tell him, "Timo, I will not let you throw your food on the floor". We did this for two weeks with John. Now if he does not want something or he is all done he will either tell his food bye or hand it to us. Also, if John throws his food on the floor now that we have "trained" him- then ALL the food gets thrown away and he is done for that meal. It only took once or twice to make him really think about throwing his food on the floor. Oh, and I would not feed him any food until the next meal time. Good luck!!!
Some other fun finger foods for babies with no teeth, John still only has 4 and he is 15 months, is sandwich cheese and deli meat sliced thin. Also, Gerber yogurt bites, puffs, and lil crunchies.
