Young and Jennie worked as long as they could on the beach before their batteries died and they had to go plug in.
Timo made some fast friends, as usual, and they had a sand burring contest. They played with their new friends the rest of the day before it started raining! Good thing about Hawaii, the rain showers are short! We ran to get someplace dry for the 20min shower and ran into Micky and Minnie! All the Characters were so gracious with their time!
The koi pond fish feeding was at 2pm everyday, we had missed it the first few days but finally made it on the 3rd day. We ended up talking to the staff member a really long time that day, long after everyone else had left. She was so gracious with her time as well and entertained all Cameron's questions. She was equally impressed by how much Timo and Cameron knew about animals...Thank you Wild Kratts!
We discovered our bath tub turned into a hot tub! We washed off all the beach sand and made our way down to club house to do the GEO Treck around the property. Timo had been asking and asking and asking to do this, ha just had to get his hand on those computers for kids! It's basically little computers with maps and information that lead you from point to point leaning all about Hawaii and Hawaiian culture. It was really amazing for the kids to learn so much from music to volcanoes, sea turtles and endangered animals on the islands and various other Hawaiian traditions.
Another sunset evening on the islands of Hawaii...
Full disclosure, by the 4th day, Mommy need a break! With Young working all day, my days were enjoyable but spent chasing two kids that, most of the time, wanted to go in opposite directions. One would want to go to the beach while the other wanted to be in the hot tub, or one wanted to just watch the fish while the other insisted on going to the pool. One hungry, one needed a potty break, one wanted to Geo trek again, the other just wanted to stay in the room and play. It was a delicate balance of compromise while trying to enjoy a few things myself. The hotel has a Kids Beach House for just kids that has FREE activities and classes going on all day, 9am-9pm. It was all FREE! We checked the class schedule the day before and signed the kids up for three classes that day in the Bach House so I could have a little down time. I dropped Timo and Cameron off at 9am for their first class, Eruption Disruption: Volcanoes, and headed to the pool for some nap time. Since the Beach Houes is just for kids, no parents were allowed past the check in gate...I have no pictures of their day or classes...Stitch Space Goo and Hula Party. And they didn't even want to leave when I came to pick them up that afternoon at 5! So I ordered dinner for them in the Beach House, let them stay with their new friends and play while Young took a dinner break and we had a little dinner date without kids!
Cameron did show off her new hula dance once we got back to the room that night...check it out...
