I love my little boy! He's not so little anymore...shooting up through one whole clothes size and shoe size in three months! Even though I wish he would stay little forever, I love watching him grow into this silly, smart, big boy who loves life!
Watching Star Wars for the first time with Daddy. I don't know who was more excited, Young or Timo. It was a moment Young had been waiting for a long time...
We studied Josiah in Sunday School, how he was just a boy when he became king and read the bible to his people. Timo showing the class what it must have been like.
He is getting better and better and letters, sounds and reading...I feel like we can't teach him fast enough. I got
some workbooks at the Dollar Store and that's all he wants to do when he
gets home from school. He did these pages without any help from me.
And it feels like he is going 100mph every minute of the day, so I love the moments he slows down, stops and just enjoys laying the grass once in a while...

Fun Saturday
Tell me there is a free craft somewhere and we're there! Last Saturday Young had some work to do at home so I took the kids out to give him some quiet. We started our day at Home Depot building firetrucks at the Kids Workshop. There was also a little pumpkin patch set up there for the kids to meander through.
Our tradition is after Home Depot craft, we head to Krispy Kreme for a treat. The kids are well versed in this tradition by now and continually reminded me where we were to go after we finished our firetrucks.
We then headed over to Michaels for the Kids Craft...painting pumpkins. We love crafts!! This craft took a while. There were so many options to add to your pumpkin, the kids felt they had to use it all. I don't have the final product here, but just picture glitter, glow in the dark paint, felt squares, googly eyes, and spider webs in no particular order. They truly let their creativity flow.
Target is next to Michael's and the kids were feeling very pumpkin/haloween-ish so they wanted to go look at more Halloween stuff. Cameron wouldn't go near the scary stuff so we hung out in the costume section most. Nothing like having fun, just killing time.
We got home just in time to catch the Blue Angles part of the Fleet Week air show. We had been hearing and seeing Blue Angles practice the past few days, so Timo was so excited to see all their tricks. We're so lucky that we can see most of the show from our backyard! I love Saturdays...

It's Was Hot!
We've had been waiting all summer to have our summer in SF...and it finally came for four days last week. Four amazing days of 80degree temps! When we get weather like this, we try to pack in our whole summer in a few short days...
We broke out the sprinkler toy which was fun for a sort time but the water was soooo cold coming out, the kids were shivering in no time. Then the water play quickly turned to making mud, which turned to playing with trucks in the mud, to throwing mud, mud fights and eventually trying to get mud over every part of their body! We love our short summer!

Blue Ribbon Swimming
I'm so proud of Timo and Cameron for earning their blue ribbons in swimming! It was a really hard ribbon to earn and took about three weeks of trying. Each week Cameron would tell her teacher she was ready for the swim test and each week she would fall short by one "up face". You had to jump off the wall, swim out with 5 up faces, back to the wall with 5 up faces and climb out. I'm especially proud of Timo for making up lost ground in such a short time to earn his ribbon at the same time as his sister. Now we are on to the "red ribbon" where they have to learn how to float and swim on their backs..exciting!
Resting at the platform after completing their five "up and down" faces in the water.

Woot woot! Our blue ribbons!!
I was so excited that I called Young and he got off work early and we took the kids out for dinner to celebrate. A little "cheers" with their milk! How cool is it that your best friend is your twin?!Friday, October 5, 2012
Baking with Cameron
Young took Timo out on a boys day out while Cameron and I stayed home to bake! I can't think of anything much more fun than baking with my children. And typically, when I bake, I like to bake about four different things at a time. Baking one thing at a time doesn't seem like a very good use of my time. So this day we were making creme brulee, pumpkin bread, banana muffins and coconut raspberry macaroons. Don't worry, it wasn't all for us...their school was having a ladies tea that I was donating dessert for.
Cameron inherited my love of cooking! Timo likes to cook too but I think his is more about making a mess and eating the end product and is very impatient. But Cameron seems to grasp the art of cooking...the enjoyment of each step it take to create something that looks good and tastes yummy.
I must confess, I was taking this picture of her putting the pumpkin bread in the oven and she burned herself. I asked her to look at me and smile, she lost track of her hand and touched the oven rack. I know, I know...such a bad mom! What was I thinking??? But it wasn't that bad, just a tiny spot...she recovered like a trooper but of course had to lecture me a little on why we have to be care when the oven door is open.
And she even did her part to help clean up...love this part the most!
Our finished products! She was so proud of everything we made. Everything tasted as yummy as it looks.
I had to drop off the cookies to the tea party and then I took my little sous chef out for a fun dinner at Pasta Pomodoro...a well deserved treat! I'm already thinking of all the holiday baking we're going to do together...

Hiking--Sutro Baths
A few weeks ago I was catering a friend's baby shower so Young took the kids hiking to allow me time to cook and bake. It looks like they had so much fun. They started at Ocean Beach, hiked up and down to the Surtro Baths, through tunnels and around the Lands Ends and back to the beach. Sorry for not much commentary, having not been there, I'm can only guess at the experience they had.
I was still working and not able to join them, but Daddy treated them to a nice lunch at the Cliff House! Looks like they had a nice lunch with a nice view...sorry to have missed out but looks like it was a great day with Daddy!

Fan Gear
Looks who's getting ready for basketball season! Granny knows we are true UNC fans and sent these adorable outfits to the kids so
they can properly cheer on the Tarheels this season! Thank you Granny!!
I got Cameron this cheerleader doll a when she was 2 years old but she hasn't really cared that much for it...until she got her cheer leading dress. Now she has to carry around Cheer-y (it's name) when she is wearing her outfit. Makes me wonder if she is ready for one of those dolls that wears matching girl/doll outfits...hmmmm.
