Gingerbread Houses!

We had a playdate with some of our friends last week to decorate gingerbread houses. Lots of the Cameron and Timo's friends started preschool this past fall and we haven't been able to play with them as much but the holiday break has given us time to play and catch up.

It started out as a cookie decorating date but our friend Rachel had made several gingerbread houses for a baby shower that didn't get used...so we ended up just doing houses. The houses were so cute and simple...just graham crackers glued to little milk cartons and an ice cream cone as a tree!
We had six kids all around the table trying their best not to eat all the candy before the houses were decorated. Each child had their own style, own agenda and own color scheme going on. I can say, the two girls were far more interested in the project than the 4 boys! Here are few photos of the day...

The finished products! Not too bad, huh? Just a little help from moms but most of it was all kids.
Cameron's house has such detail with the candy canes and chocolate chip walk way...all of which she did all by herself. Timo was all about his roof and that was pretty much it...I had to coax him to put something on his tree. But the fun was just being with friends and eating CANDY!
