All the kids, and adults too, wanted to go see the new pirate dinner show that had just opened in Myrtle Beach. Little did I know how popular it was, when I called for tickets we got the last few available for a matinee two days later than we had planned to go. But it worked out just as well going during the day...it was way too hot to be at the beach or pool. Everyone was super excited to see the Pirate Voyage Dinner Show...by Dolly Parton, so we knew it would be very family friendly.
The show was really great, they served tons of food, and not as "scary" as the pirate show we saw in LA last year. Cameron sat through the whole thing only covering her eyes/ears once or twice when the cannons went off. The whole program was a cross between a cirque de soleil and a talent show. I snapped a few pics but they didn't turn out so well because you couldn't use flash. Cameron especially like the mermaids and Timo loved the sea lion act...
Dolly Parton even made a "cameo" performance on the big screen...
We all had flags to wave for our pirate team to win the various "competitions" like juggling, acrobatics, flips, etc...and our blue won! Cameron was so happy, she kept waving her flag over and over again.
The really great thing about a matinee show was still having the whole evening free to do something fun...like go to the local amusement park! We took the kids to the little park inside Barefoot Landing and I was so happy that Cameron was tall enough to ride all the rides! I think we rode every ride there at least twice!
The kids first snow cone! Trying to beat the heat at 8pm at night...it was a hot day!
One more time on the ferris wheel and we called it a day...at 10pm!!
