Catching Up

It's so easy keeping up with the blog day to day...but once you take a few days off...it's so hard catching back up.

My parents have been in town for the past week and half and things have been busy. I don't have a ton of photos to post because I wasn't around for a lot of their visit. I tried to take advantage of having full time help and take some time for myself and with Young. I spent my days shopping, manicure, reading time at the library, lunches and fun dinner dates friends we haven't seen in a long time. It's like I was the one on vacation. And the kids didn't even notice I was gone...Granny and Grandpa kept them thoroughly entertained.

Here are a few photos I have...
Cameron trying to play horsey on Grandpa's legs...and story time!

My parents fed the kids constantly! It seemed they were always feeding them something and different. And of course the kids would gobble up something that I said they normally didn't like. Cameron really liked Granny's cereal every morning and the both got in the habit of snacking on fruit just before bedtime.

Grandpa handled bath time like a charm! He got to see the challenges playing referee all while trying to wash and rise the kids.

Doughnuts

Another classic southern treat the Grandparents wanted to share with the kids were Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. We stopped and got an assortment of the mini doughnuts to see what the kids might like. They aren't super sweet eaters, so I was interested to see how they went over...about 50/50. They loved to eat the sprinkles and chocolate glaze off the top but didn't really find the doughnut too tasty. Again I ask...who kids are these???

Gotta have milk with doughnuts!

First Hair Cuts!

My mom is retired from 35 years as a hair stylist...or hair dresser as they call it back home. So I thought it only fitting that she be the one to give the twins their first hair cuts. Their hair isn't especially long but just needed to be trimmed and "neatened" up a little...just enough to say it was a hair cut. I took video of both but it was taking waaaay too long to load. I might try again in a few days but here are the pictures.

Cameron was up first and did an amazing job at sitting still and letting Granny snip her hair. We gave her a giant make up brush and she was happy.

Now our little girl can see...no more hair in her eyes.

Timothy on the other hand was a little more squirmy and restless...maybe because his hair cut took longer.
We started with the make up brush but had put on one of his music TV programs. That worked for a little while.

Grandpa had to step in with a car and then Granny bracelet...

A little more music videos and then Granny's watch occupied him enough to finish the last little bit

Our handsome little boy...he looks so much older.

Granny & Grandpa

My parents are here visiting from North Carolina and boy are the kids getting spoiled rotten...not to mention me too! It's so nice having extra pairs of hands helping out with the kids. Mom is a champ at washing dishes and high chair trays...while daddy is an expert at bath time.

Grandpa brought Timo a little matchbox car...he wouldn't let go of it...he slept with it for 2 nights in a row.

We hit Tots Time at the rec center...the kids could roam all over this time with two people to watch them.

Grandpa giving the kids their first taste of Pepsi...taste born in the Carolinas!

Granny giving Timo a wake up kiss...notice he still has the car in his hand.

We hit Fisherman's Warf for a little while one day...I feel like I'm the one on vacation. Mom was happy to push the stroller and Daddy & Young took the kids to see the boats...nothing left for me to do.

The kids were getting cranky and it was their nap time, so we sent them home with the guys while mom and I got to do some shopping.

I Love My Trucks!

I've been collecting pictures over the past few days of Timothy and his trucks/cars, which was pretty easy. There always seems to be a car in his hand. He has loved his dump truck for a long time but has now started running cars all over the floor, furniture, table, anywhere. He loves anything that's on wheels. Now he can make the car sounds and crash noises. Not only is it his toys but he loves watching large trucks go by. He makes a be-line to the window every Thursday morning when he hears the dump trucks. He'll stand and watch them out the window until they are out of sight...and sometimes has a melt down when he can't see them any more...poor baby.

Cameron figured out how to sit on the dump truck and turn it into a ridding toy...crafty little girl!

Petting Zoo

Another free Wednesday at the zoo. Here are a few pictures of our twins play group. There are 4 moms and 8 kids. We tend to just hang in the petting zoo area because the kids can't really see the bigger animals in the zoo from their stroller and no way are we taking out all these babies to run in twenty different directions! The petting zoo provides enough excitement for the little ones and enough stress for us moms.Cameron was much more brave this time. She walked right up to the goats but still loved to just watch all the baby chicks.

It is SO hard keeping all the kids out of the duck pond. So they went over and tried to get wet from the water spicket...why are my kids the one causing the trouble??

My Rocking Chair!

Since Cameron loves to sit in chairs, I've been on the lookout for a little chair just for her. I found this rocking chair on Craigslist and snatched it right up! But unfortunately, you can't introduce just one new toy to a set of twins. That's just asking for an all out brawl. So I had to keep it in the garage for a day or so until I could find one for Timothy. But luckily, I found another little toy for him in some items our neighbor wanted to get rid of...a little guitar just Timo's size! They were both so happy with their new toys and no fights. Best of all, the new items kept them entertained long enough for me to get the house clean for my parents arrival tomorrow!!Climbing in the chair right away and learning how to rock back and forth.

Timothy tuning his new guitar trying to make some music.

Cameron was nice enough to let her brother in the chair but then she started rocking it and he got a little scared...he went back to his guitar.

Babysitting

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of babysitting Jordan! She is the lovable 11mo old daughter of some good friends from our church. Boy, did we find out we are not ready for another baby! While it was so much fun having her for two days, we realized having 1 baby on one schedule and 2 babies on another is no easy job.

All the kids playing in the crib while Young put on a puppet show. Timo and Jordan playing in the kitchen. Jordan is just starting to pull herself up, yeah Jordan! She really loved Cameron and kept pulling on her to try and stand...so very cute.

We took them out on a stroll but they liked the view of the waterfall better than the view of Mommy with the camera. And Jordan did a good job at keeping up with these two walkers, she followed them all around. By the end of our time together, Timothy kept pointing at her and making the "J" sound with a big smile on his face. True friendship!

Silly Cameron!

I mentioned before how Cameron loves to wear hats...well, I guess she thinks anything can be a hat. She pulled this tuperware bowl out and was playing with it. Next thing I knew, she was wearing it on her head and wouldn't take it off! She was having the best time wearing it all over the house all day long. Silly Girl!
