We participated in Operation Christmas Child again this year and Timo and Cameron had a blast packing boxes! I took them to the Dollar Store the day before to pick out things to pack in their little boy and girl's box...oh boy, what a treat! Timo picked up almost every toy in the store and wanted to put it in his boy's box. "I want my boy to have this!" And Cameron felt her little girl only need puzzles so it took a little talking to her about other things the girl might want to play with. (No pictures of this...one adult and two kids in a toy store...not good odds)
In addition to our boxes, our church supplied boxes and fillings for 50 more boxes and had a "packing party" where the children got to pack the boxes. Timo and Cameron were picking out toys and packing like old pros...
After all the boxes were packed, we stacked them up, hoping to collect at least 200. Our church had over 230 boxes donated, woo hoo! I think next year I'll track our boxes so the children can see where they end up.
