Sunday Afternoon

We finally got some sunny warm weather on Sunday so we headed outside to soak up some vitamin D! We thought it would be fun to take the kids to the beach and fly the kite...best made plans...we forgot the middle bar on the kite! Oh well, the kids didn't really care, as long as there are rocks and water, they are happy.

Timo and Daddy ran on ahead while Cameron meandered around the walk-over bridge looking at ducks...she tends to just wander around while Timo has a purpose and wants to get to it!

Let the rock throwing begin! Timo scoured around the find the biggest rocks he could find.
Some how throwing rocks turned to throwing dirt...

I wish I had brought a blanket to sit on...we stayed at one tide pool for over an hour while the kids played...we had no place to sit...
After all the rock and dirt throwing, the kids were quite impressed with their messy hands...for about a minute...then they started to get really upset at the "mess". Since I didn't bring the wipes with me, Daddy taught them how to use grass as a napkin!
One last look at the ocean and it was time to go. The kids didn't really want to go but it was way past time for dinner and I didn't want to push it too much longer. Again, Daddy saved the day by making a game out of walking to the car. He had the kids hold on to the kite tale to make a train! He managed to avoid a total melt down and is a super hero in my eyes!!
We had a coupon for a local pizza place so we took the kids out for dinner. Service was REALLY slow and the kids were getting very restless...we had to come up with all sorts of ideas to entertain them. Luckily it was loud in there so we could be as loud as we wanted. Here is Cameron singing Do-Re-Me from Sound of Music...her new fav movie. She really wanted to see herself singing on the camera so it was hard to get through the whole song...

After about a dozen bread sticks, our salads finally came...Timo was so adventurous eating salad and the anchovies!

Finally Pizza time and the kids gobbled it right up! What a great ending to a great day!
