My Little Inhaler

As I've metioned before, Timo tends have breathing problems whenever he gets the slightest cold. Because of the sever case of RSV he had as a baby, his lungs are fragile. The doctors say he will grow out of it but for now....we have his inhaler.

The kids both got colds this past week...Cameron first and then giving it to her brother. Within a day it moved to his chest and we were on our way to the emergency room with him not being able to breath very well. After tests of his blood oxgyen and a Alburteral treatment, we were allowed to take him home with an apt. to see him first thing the next morning. (It's always a toss up to put him in the hospital overnight but home is always better) He was doing about the same the next morning but his fever had dropped. Yeah! He is doing MUCH better now, we just need to give him his inhaler every 3-4 hours depending how he is breathing.
At first he hated the inhaler and would scream as we tried to put the mask on his face. Now he sits and lets us puff him...even holding the mask for us. We let him play with it so he doesn't thing it's something bad and I think that has helped. It's amazing how much easier he breaths after a few puffs! Now he likes his little inhaler...a toy I wish he didn't have to have but a toy I'm a thankful for!
I like that the directions on the mask are of a cute little bear...

been there done that, still do. Kaylee helps us count now between puffs. We do Flovent 2 times daily and then albuterol if she needs it. I need to get her back on the Flovent with all the pollen and ragweed. It does a good job of preventing things.
